Journey to South Korea with these savory-sweet Bulgogi Steak Bites, marinated with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and fruit, then seared until caramelized and served over jasmine rice.
Ingredients
For the Bulgogi Steak
Sirloin steak, cut into small pieces
Soy sauce
Brown sugar
Sesame oil
Garlic
Fresh ginger
Grated pear or apple
Green onions
Sesame seeds
Black pepper
For the Bowl
Jasmine rice
Sesame seeds
Sliced green onions
Instructions
Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, grated pear or apple, green onions, sesame seeds, and black pepper.
Add the steak and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Heat a skillet over high heat.
Cook the steak in batches so it sears instead of steams.
Let the marinade caramelize slightly around the beef as it cooks.
Serve the bulgogi steak bites over jasmine rice.
Finish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

The marinade commonly balances soy sauce, sweetness, sesame, garlic, and fruit, with pear often used to add flavor and help tenderize the beef.
