Experience the comforting flavors of Osaka with this savory rice bowl featuring seasoned ground beef, fragrant jasmine rice, and a sweet-and-spicy marinated egg.

Ingredients

For the Beef

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp chili powder

  • ½ tsp chili flakes

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp salt


For the Marinated Egg

  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, peeled

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • ¼ tsp chili flakes

  • 1 tsp honey

  • Pinch of salt


For the Bowl

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice


Instructions

  1. Place the peeled hard-boiled eggs in a small container. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, chili flakes, honey, and salt. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for deeper flavor.

  2. Cook the jasmine rice according to package directions and keep warm.

  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the onion until softened.

  4. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

  5. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.

  6. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, chili flakes, lemon juice, and salt.

  7. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the flavors are well combined.

  8. To assemble, place a scoop of jasmine rice in a bowl.

  9. Top with the seasoned beef.

  10. Slice a marinated egg in half and place on top.
